I think of contentment as a settling sort of word -- it's not happiness, where you've achieved and feel the glow of reward and success. It's a fulfilled condition. Contentment says, I can live with the things I have right now and be satisfied. It's a very conditional sort of joy, dependent on factors that may not last.
Those conditions are really on tenterhooks for me, but today they're still satisfied, and so I'm -- content. I'm doing a few unhealthy things and not achieving enough to get me where I need to be, but as long as these particular conditions last. Well.
